David Merchant, originally from Madison, Wisconsin, is a 2006 graduate of Missouri State University with a BS in Journalism. He wrote for the Missouri State Campus Newspaper, The Standard, covering the Bears Football program as well as numerous MVC basketball games. David received multiple honors for his sports writing works at the 2005 Missouri College Media Association Better Newspaper Contest. He currently works at the Northeast News, a weekly publication in the Northeast Kansas City area. His favorite teams are the Missouri State Bears and the Wisconsin Badgers.
